On 15 October 2018, GPA client the European Small Business Alliance celebrated its 20th anniversary as a Brussels based pan-European body representing micro and small companies from across the EU.
Speaking to a select crowd of stakeholders, ESBA President David Caro expressed his gratitude to all those who have contributed to the growth and success of ESBA. He looked back on two successful decades in which ESBA has established itself as an organisation that has the ear of the European Institutions on all matters small business, as well as a good working relationship with other stakeholders. Mr. Caro was very pleased to be sharing a table with our fellow business organisations UEAPME, BUSINESSEUROPE and Eurochambres, as it showed the healthy attitude amongst organisations towards fighting the good fight together on behalf of SMEs.
Deputy Director General of the European Commission’s DG for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (GROW), commended the work of ESBA in her keynote speech, which outlined the Commission’s efforts towards helping SMES. She thanked ESBA for its positive contributions and wished it similar successes for the next 20 years.
Member of the European Parliament and Chair of the Employment Committee, Anthea McIntyre stressed the invaluable role of SMEs within the EU economy and the importance of representative bodies such as ESBA in creating better regulation for SMEs. Ms. McItntyre has been a champion for SMEs throughout her term.
ESBA committed to continuing its mission to improve the regulatory environment for SMEs and to help entrepreneurs realize their dreams and visions, whilst creating economic growth and employment.
